James Bond: Daniel Craig Reportedly Offered $150 Million to Return to the Spy Series for Two More Films

If Daniel Craig has been playing hard to get, his strategy may be paying off. In the latest tremor in the question of Who Will Be James BondRadar reports that Sony is ready to offer Craig $150 million to keep going with the franchise for two more films.

“The studio is desperate to secure the actor’s services while they phase in a younger long-term successor,” says Radar‘s source.

Craig’s casting was initially met with resistance by fans, owed largely to the fact that the actor sports lighter hair than his predecessors, but his take on the enduring character has become one of the most acclaimed during his four-film tenure.

“Daniel’s the key for a seamless, safe transition as far as Sony and Bond bosses are concerned, and they’re prepared to pay a king’s ransom to make it happen,” continues the source.

That said — as with so much reporting on who’s going to be Bond, this has to be taken with a grain of Himalayan sea salt. It’s possible that all of the chatter has its base in reality, but nothing is real until a deal is signed.

Since the release of “Spectre” late last year, speculation has run rampant as to who might replace Craig should he truly be done with the series; Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba’s names have been mentioned with especially high frequency. Craig starred in “Casino Royale,” “Quantum of Solace,” “Skyfall” and “Spectre.”

Prison Break Is Officially Returning to Fox

Prison Break is officially back from the dead at Fox. And so is Michael Scofield, becauseWentworth Miller is on board to reprise his role as the dude with the full-body tattoo despite the fact his character apparently died in the straight-to-video film Prison BreakThe Final Break that was released in 2009 following the end of the series. According to Fox Television Group Chairmen and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman, the new 10-episode limited series, which was first reported in June and is being described as a sequel to the original series, will not completely ignore the events of the film.

“I don’t think [executive producer Paul Scheuring] is going to completely ignore what happened in [the movie],” Walden told reporters Thursday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. “What he pitched to us was a very logical and believable—in the world of Prison Break—explanation for why our characters are alive and still moving around the world.”

“This is the pure vision of the creator of the show,” Walden added. “It’s going to take a little bit of a detour from where we left off, but it should feel very satisfying and event-ized. Fans will be excited about seeing these characters back together again.”

Walden confirmed that Dominic Purcell, who plays Michael’s brother Lincoln Burrows, will also return, but would not comment on who else might appear when the series debuts, noting only that several “iconic characters” would be back.

Prison Break is just the latest Fox series to get the revival treatment. The network previously revived 24 and is currently filming a limited run of The X-Files that will air in the spring. The decision to bring Prison Break back was reportedly due in part to the show’s recent success on Netflix. “This is just one of those shows… that generates buzz and enthusiasm, especially online,” said Newman. “We think it’s going to be a great treat for the audience.”

Oscars 2016: Leonardo DiCaprio wins best actor for The Revenant

As sure as the Sun, the Moon, and most basic laws of modern physics, Leonardo DiCaprio has won the Academy Award for best actor for his work in The Revenant. Presenter Julianne Moore, who won best actress at last year’s awards, waited a respectable amount of time before announcing DiCaprio’s name, as if to see if she could make time itself pause briefly in anticipation.

Born in 1974 without a statuette, Leonardo Willhelm DiCaprio has starred in over two dozen films, including Gangs of New York and The Basketball Diaries. He once had an uncredited role as Darlene’s classmate in a 1991 episode of Roseanne. To date, DiCaprio has won over 40 awards and has been nominated six times for an Oscar. This is his first win.

The curse is broken.

Following an extended applause, DiCaprio thanked fellow nominees, the cast and crew ofThe Revenant (including best director winnerAlejandro Iñárritu), and even past collaborators like Martin Scorsese. DiCaprio ended with a big note on the environment:

Climate change is real, it is happening right now, it is the most urgent threat facing our entire species and we need to work collectively and stop procrastinating. We need to support leaders around the world … who speak for all of humanity.

Other nominees in the category, who may or may not have even bothered to write acceptance speeches, include Bryan Cranston for Trumbo, Matt Damon for The Martian, Michael Fassbender for Steve Jobs, and Eddie Redmayne for The Danish Girl. And now, with Leo’s quest at an end, it’s time to start looking for the next perpetually snubbed performer to memeify.

DAREDEVIL To Return In March

The first in a planned series of shows detailing the Marvel universe, “Daredevil” follows Matt Murdock, attorney by day and vigilante by night. Blinded in an accident as a child, Murdock uses his heightened senses as Daredevil, fighting crime on the streets of New York after the sun goes down. His efforts are not welcomed by powerful businessman Wilson Fisk — aka Kingpin — and others whose interests collide with those of Daredevil. Though Murdock’s day job portrays a man who believes in the criminal justice system, his alter ego suggests otherwise, as he takes the law into his own hands to protect his Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood and the surrounding communities.

Within the print issue of Entertainment Weekly’s coverage of Daredevil season 2 is a bit of information that excited fans may have overlooked. Netflix subscribers should expect to stream epic battles between Matt Murdock’s alter ego, the Punisher and Elektra in March.

‘Sherlock Holmes’ Season 4 Release Date: Filming to Start in 2016; A ‘Victorian Gentleman’ Sherlock Awaits Fans in Christmas Special

BBC intends to reveal special episode that will make fans get hooked-up again to “Sherlock,” short stories. This will happen before the release date of the fourth season of “Sherlock.” Steven Moffat, co-producer of the series, discussed why they decided to continue with the project.

It was explained that it is not just about the setting; Moffat said that Benedict Cumberbatch will also show the other side of Sherlock. He will be more refined, as a Victorian gentleman rather than the current character he’s playing in the modern age Sherlock. The specials is rumored to be like a stand-alone project, and not at all connected to the next season. Moffat further explained, “We wouldn’t have done the story we’re doing, and the way we’re doing it, if we didn’t have this special. It’s not part of the run of three episodes. So we had this to do it – as we could hardly conceal – it’s Victorian.”

Although, the actor expressed his issue that viewers may not like Sherlock’s change in attitude, it’s the abrasiveness of his character that shapes the core in the modern age adaptation of the series.

With the series’ fourth season not due to start shooting until 1026 and not anticipated on the TV screens until the early part of 2017, the fans would need to wait longer as season 3 finale was aired in 2014.

On the other hand, it’s not a “doomsday,” for the fans, producers Steven Mofatt and Mark Gatiss are busy putting a cast together long enough to make an extra ordinary Christmas Special.

What does the public know so far?

Aside from the information that Martin Freeman has amazingly “pimpin” moustache, there will a new setting and backdrop.

The Christmas Special will show Sherlock Holmes played by Benedict Cumberbatch and John Watson played by Martin Freeman, brought from modern age London to 1995 era.

We know that a new standalone Batman movie is an inevitability, and that Warner Bros. plans to make it part of their DC Extended Universe films. Rumors have been circulating that Batman himself, Ben Affleck, is in talks to direct the film. However, it seems that the flesh may be willing, but the schedule is weak.

“He’s got a busy schedule,” producer Charles Roven tells Total Film. “He’s about to start a movie now [Live By Night]. And he’s also got obligations to be in the Justice League movies. The calendar is a bit tricky.”

“Look, if I could make it work, yeah,” Affleck says. “Obviously it would be like a dream. The trick is, as to any movie, is to make sure that you – if you’re going to direct it – that you can make it good. You’ve got to have the right idea and the right take on it.

“Broadly speaking, it’s something I’d be open to, for sure. It’s a very exciting idea.”

Check out when Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and other movies are coming out in ComicBook.com’s Movie Release Schedule.

Following the discovery of the animated Justice League poster from a month ago, now a new animated Justice League series is confirmed by Cartoon Network.

Cartoon Network Canada responded to a fan question on their Facebook page with (viatoonzone.net): “We will be premiering a new Justice League series, but not likely until next Fall.”

As noted by a forum poster, the Cartoon Network shows usually air later in Canada than in the U.S., so that would mean the new Justice League animated series – speculated to be titled “Justice League Action” – would debut at least in the Fall of 2016.

The last Justice League animated series aired back in 2006 with Justice League Unlimited, which is coming to Blu-Ray soon.

The news of the new Justice League animated series coincides with the launch of the DC movie universe including Batman Vs. Superman next March, Suicide Squad next August, followed by Wonder Woman and the Justice League Part 1 film.

‘Power Rangers’: Actors Begin Testing for Lionsgate Reboot

With Dean Israelite set as its director and the latest script in to execs, Lionsgate has begun the search for who will become the new “Power Rangers.”

Sources tell Variety the studio is about to begin testing young talent, looking at up-and-coming actors and actresses to make up the team. Sources say Daniel Zovatto (“It Follows”), Ross Butler (“Chasing Life”) and Brian “Sene” Marc are among those testing for Zack (aka the Black Ranger), while KJ Apa (“Shortland Street”), Austin Butler (“The Shannara Chronicles”) and Mitchell Hope (“The Descendants”) are testing for Jason (aka the Red Ranger).

Sources also say Naomi Scott (“The Martian”) and newcomer Stephanie Scott are up for the role of Kimberley (aka the Pink Ranger). Insiders say the studio is looking for fresh faces to fill out the team and will probably look for a big name to play the antagonist for the films, though no offers have been made for that part.

Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are penning the script, with Haim Saban, Brian Casentini and Allison Shearmur producing.

The story reimagines the origins of the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers,” a group of high school kids who find themselves infused with extraterrestrial powers and unite to save the world, with the aid of giant mechanical vehicles known as Zords.

The 1993 Fox Kids TV series became a pop culture phenomenon and inspired a theatrical film, “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie,” in 1995. The original iteration of the series ran until 1996, when the franchise was renamed simply “Power Rangers,” with different subtitles every season.

In later seasons, the title teens were replaced with new characters and vehicles every year. A second theatrical pic, “Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie,” was released in 1997 and was presented as a link between “Power Rangers” series “Zeo” and “Turbo.” The show was originally adapted from the long-running Japanese “Super Sentai” series, recycling footage from the Japanese version to cut down on production costs.

The pic is expected to go up against Guy Ritchie’s retelling of the “King Arthur” story, which also bows on Jan. 13, 2017.

Lionsgate declined to comment.

See Hawkman and Hawkgirl From The CW’s ‘Legends of Tomorrow’

Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée) and Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) have suited up.
Hawkman, aka Carter Hall, is the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian Prince who is fated to reincarnate throughout time for centuries along with his soul mate, Kendra Saunders (aka Hawkgirl). Both of them can access the powers of the Hawk God, Horus, giving them the ability to fly.One big difference between the two winged warriors is that Hawkman has been able to retain and remember all the memories from his 5,000 years of past lives, whereas Hawkgirl will not.

“You’ll get a clear picture of what her origin story is and you’ll actually get a chance to see it,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim told The Hollywood Reporter at Comic-Con. “Fans of the comics will recognize an awful lot. It’s probably one of the more faithful origins that we’ve told.”
